The purpose of the Neighbourhood Houses strategic partnership agreement (PDF 498KB) is to
- create a Community of Practice between the parties to the Agreement to facilitate peer to peer professional development, share resources, knowledge and experiences
- raise the profile of Neighbourhood Houses/Community Centres in Brimbank through joint marketing and collaborative projects and programming
- explore and develop opportunities for collaborative projects to create collective impact in social issues in the Brimbank community
- be a strong and effective advocate to influence positive change in the communities and the sector
- build capacity and strengthen communities and individuals through self-determined action and access to lifelong learning, health, wellbeing, environmental sustainability and social inclusion opportunities
- advocate jointly for an increase in resources, investment and other opportunities in Brimbank.
The agreement is between non-Council managed Houses/Community Centres
- CommUnity Plus
- Duke Street Community House
- Kororoit Creek Neighbourhood House Association
- St Albans Community Youth Club (the Tin Shed).
And Brimbank City Council managed Houses/Community Centres
- Cairnlea Community Hub
- Delahey Community Centre
- Hunt Club Community and Arts Centre
- Sydenham Neighbourhood House (and Keilor Neighbourhood House Programming Rooms)
- West Sunshine Community Centre
- Westvale Community Centre.
