Walking paths and bike trails

Group of cyclists on a bike path

You don’t have to travel far from your front door to enjoy the many parks, playgrounds and walking and cycling trails on offer in Brimbank.

Brimbank’s network of cycling and walking trails are the perfect way to discover your local area. The trails are well-designed to suit everyone from families to avid cyclists and keen walkers.  There are paths and trails suitable for:

  • people for all ages and abilities
  • walking, jogging, or cycling
  • prams and wheelchairs.

These range from well-established tracks to new pathways through recent developments. We are continuing to invest in the local trail network so the community and visitors can continue to enjoy the municipality’s outstanding waterways and get easy access to key destinations in the area.

Tips for the trail

Before setting off on your next adventure, here are some tips to keep in mind:

  • When out walking or cycling any tracks and trails don’t forget your hat and sunscreen
  • Always wear the appropriate safety gear including an Australian Standards approved helmet when riding a bike
  • Drink plenty of water
  • On shared pathways cyclists must give way to pedestrians
  • Be courteous to other pathway users
  • Keep to the left unless overtaking and only overtake when it is safe to do so
  • Use your bell or horn to politely warn pedestrians that you are approaching from behind or when you are entering a blind corner
